The Straw hat is a piece of head gear that can be equiped on the head slot. It is made entirely of straw/plains grasses and is pale yellow/tan in appearance. They also come with an extra piece of straw, which is held in the user’s mouth. This feature was popular amongst the Harvestmen who created them.
The Straw Hat was created by Harvestmen, despite them not being able to wear traditonal human headware. They were mass produced and gifted to the Mountain Peoples as a sign of goodwill and openness to trade post emergence, particularly in a time when Therepsine segregation/subjegation of plains Harvestmen was becoming more prevalent. It has been postulated that this small act essentially saved the plains Harvestmen from starvation, as they had no prior trade agreements, and claims to barren, oxidized land only. Dried straw was abundant however, and Harvestmen recognized the human need for head protection in the sun. The Straw Hat has since become a symbol of unity between the mountains and plains.
Straw hats can be consumed by Harvestmen for a small amount of health (+3). They cannot be crafted and must be bought or found.
