The Scud Cutter is an Offlander/Old World sword with rusted, industrial markings on it in a dead language unknown to the Island’s population despite it being ubiquitous to new explorers. It is said that “nearly everyone has held a scud cutter, yet few have managed to cut a scud with one”. -Lotown Kraag, from The Key of Old World Blades.
The Scud Cutter is an early game weapon, often the first one to be obtained by the player. It can either be bought from nearly any weapon vender, or obtained scavenging.
It can be obtained before the player even leaves the spawn area in The Spine, by searching the vase just to the right of the door.
